Builder · Operator · Strategist

Deepanshu Lathar I build real systems that scale.

CSE undergrad at LPU. Running ops at two startups, building campus platforms, and obsessing over the gap between product and execution. I don't just ship code — I ship outcomes.

What I Actually Do
Three modes.
One person.
01
Builder — I create

I take problems from whiteboard to working system. Whether it's a feedback loop, a content operation, or a campus platform — I design the thing and make it run.

Campus social platform (UniLyf)
User feedback loops at Picapool
SEO content systems for LPU
Product roadmaps from market research
02
Operator — I execute

Strategy dies in planning docs. I'm the person who makes it happen — managing logistics, coordinating teams, and keeping experiments running in the real world.

End-to-end ops at two startups
Cross-functional team coordination
Campus experiment rollouts
Organic growth without paid ads
03
Thinker — I solve

I find the "why" behind every product decision. I use structured frameworks to break down complex problems into executable phases — then I execute them.

Product hunting & gap analysis
Competitor feature benchmarking
Growth strategy design
User feedback synthesis

Active Grow campus user base organically. Close feedback loop between users → dev team. Founder's Office — Ops, Growth & Product
UniLyf

Problem → Solution
Three problems.
Three builds.
Case 01
Closing the Startup Feedback Gap
Problem
At Picapool, user feedback existed but wasn't reaching the dev team fast enough to drive feature iterations. The loop was broken.
Constraints
No budget for paid tools. Small team. Campus-based user base that moves fast and loses interest faster.
Approach
Designed an end-to-end feedback collection system — structured user interviews, organized data, and built a direct channel to the dev team with prioritized insights.
Result
Faster iteration cycles. Dev team aligned to actual user needs, not assumptions.
Lesson
A feedback loop is a product. Design it as carefully as anything else you ship.
Case 02
Launching a Platform Into a Cold Campus
Problem
UniLyf needed to build user anticipation before the app even launched. Zero users. Zero awareness. UK-based team, LPU campus target.
Constraints
Remote team coordination across time zones. No product yet to show. Had to sell a vision, not a feature.
Approach
Spearheaded "insider community" strategy — recruited early believers, built hype through content, coordinated across a 3-function team (Content, Creative, Copy).
Result
Pre-launch community established. Ecosystem being built before app exists.
Lesson
The best launch strategy starts 3 months before you have anything to launch.
Case 03
Making Academic Policy Human
Problem
LPU's admissions content was technical and bureaucratic. Prospective students and parents couldn't parse it — leading to disengagement.
Constraints
Accuracy was non-negotiable. Tone had to work for both 18-year-olds and their parents. University guidelines were strict.
Approach
Combined SEO strategy with narrative structure — translated policy documents into story-led content that answered real questions people were searching for.
Result
Content that drives search traffic and converts prospective student interest into engagement.
Lesson
If users can't understand your product, your product doesn't exist for them.

Thinking Architecture
How I think
about problems.
Phase-First Execution
Every system I build gets broken into phases before a single line of code or content gets written. Phase 1 always answers: what's the smallest version that proves this works?
"Don't build the whole staircase. Build the first step and test if anyone climbs it."
Feedback Loops Over Assumptions
I treat user signals as the only true north. Every decision at Picapool and UniLyf runs through the same filter: what are real users actually telling us, not what do we think they want?
"Assumptions are debts you'll pay back with compound interest when you ship."
Tech + Business Synthesis
I refuse to separate the "how it works" from the "why it matters." Every technical decision I make gets run through a product lens: what user outcome does this enable?
"The best engineers understand users. The best product people understand constraints."
Execution Over Perfection
I optimize for shipping and learning. A working prototype with real user reactions beats a perfect plan with zero market signal. Speed of iteration is the actual competitive advantage.
"Shipping dominance beats code perfection. Get it in front of users, then improve."
Proof of Skills
Not a list.
Evidence.
